SBU: Overview

The Student Welfare Subdirectorate (SBU) of the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional aims to create spaces, settings, or events for the university community to meet and express their different feelings as well as to cultivate a culture and an environment of well-being/good living, by promoting respect for differences, solidarity, co-responsibility, inclusion, fairness, and a sense of belonging along with the commitment to the institution and a professional identity. We also intend to provide strategies for living in harmony by seeking meeting places where a democratic, responsive and free university community can be built, but also by supporting institutional policies aimed at improving community harmony, reducing student dropout and ensuring their retention and graduation by the development of strategies, programs, and incentives that provide guidance to them and make it possible to meet their needs during their time at the university.

To achieve this, we develop strategies, programs, and activities based on five action strategic lines and seven functional areas supported by an exceptional work team.
